Welcome to the Bahamas
To the north of the Turks and Caicos lay the Bahamas. If you were to look at a map of the Bahamas, you would see a few large islands surrounded by almost 700 specks – these specks are in fact the beautiful and uninhabited cays that, along with the main islands, make up one of the most breathtaking countries in the Caribbean.
Each of the inhabited islands has its own personality, and great vacations to the Bahamas include sampling more than one of these beautiful islands and their perfect beaches. Selecting which island to try first can be a challenge, of course, you could always close your eyes , throw a dart at the map and trust your luck!
The weather in the Bahamas is said to be among the most perfect in the Caribbean. Summertime temperatures hover in the 80s dropping only ten degrees in the winter months. You guessed it, any time of year is a great time for a Bahamas vacation. And, while the humidity is high, the trade winds that constantly blow over the islands keep you feeling a lot cooler and drier than you might expect. The rainy season runs from May until October, with the southern islands enjoying half the amount of rain that the northern islands receive.
Getting to the Bahamas is pretty easy with direct flights from many east coast hubs and easy connecting flights from major cities such as Atlanta or even Paris.
If you find you like the Bahamas you may want to check out a few other islands that have gained favor with the Bahamas crowd; Aruba and Bermuda for starters. You'll find direct flights to Bermuda and non stop Aruba flights make both of these an easy choice for a quick getaway.
